There are two organisations, in particular, whose websites have compelling, and enjoyable, information about improving our communities and our own quality of life.
Common Purpose's Just Do Something website includes information on everything from how to become a magistrate to guidance about how to start your own campaign.
And you may well have seen, or ideally bought, the fab book Change the World for a Fiver, from We are what we do. They describe themselves as a new movement which inspires people to use their everyday actions to change the world. Who wouldn't want to do that? See the full, funky, fun colour version of the 50 actions that they're motivating the country to undertake. In the meantime, here's their list:
